Haveri: Former chief minister and Gadag-Haveri Lok Sabha constituency BJP candidate Basavaraj Bommai called upon the people not to accept the guarantee card to be issued by the Congress party.

Addressing a roadshow organised by District Yuva Morcha and youth convention here, he said the Congress workers have started distributing the guarantee card again and promised to pay Rs one lakh for each woman and Rs one lakh to youth. The Congress party has contested only in 200 of the total 543 seats and 272 seats were required to form the government. When they have hardly contested in 200 seats how can they come to power. The Congress was coming the people in the name of guarantees.

He said the current guarantees were not being implemented properly and Gruha Laxmi scheme was yet to reach many. The schemes have left Bengaluru but not reached villages. Two new districts, Gadag and Haveri had been carved out by J.H.Patel and the Upper Tunga project was implemented by him when B.S.Yediyurappa was the CM.

The BJP implemented the Singatalur lift irrigation scheme in Gadag district and right similar schemes in Haveri district. The incumbent government did not have funds to give for the completion of some schemes. The government has been unable to appoint district incharge minister for Haveri.

He said Sonia Gandhi has said there has been dark everywhere and it would remain for another one decade. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been the ray of hope for the whole nation.
