Haveri: Former chief minister and Gadag-Haveri Lok Sabha constituency BJP candidate Basavaraj Bommai dared the Congress government to display it’s machismo by releasing drought relief money from treasury. The previous BJP government did this when it disbursed double the relief when the floods ravaged several villages, he said.

Reacting to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah statement that none of the BJP MP have the guts to stand before Prime Minister Narendra Modi to talk about drought in the state. The former CM said that the machismo test would be done of those who were in power. People voted Siddaramaiah to power but they were now in distress, he said.

It was the government’s duty to rush during distress. The previous BJP government disbursed double the relief towards the flood damages.

” Disbursing relief to 17 lakh people has been our machismo which we have displayed it already. We didn’t pick point our fingers at anyone,” he said.

Bommai said the real test machismo was before the Congress leaders and let them display it by disbursing from the state treasury without pointing at the centre.

Did they get the relief money from the sky? It came later. The state treasury was now empty to disburse relief to farmers. To cover up their mistakes, the Congress leaders were talking about machismo.

On K.S.Eshwarappa’s statment that former CM B.S.Yediyurappa had been doing adjustment politics, he said such reactions were common during the election but the people would give verdict. So, it was not possible to do such adjustment politics. People would observe everything and give their decision. Eshwarappa give statements according to his benefit but there was no truth in it, he said.

SDPI, a Congress Creation

Commenting on the Congress forging alliance with the SDPI, he said it had been the prodigy of the Congress party and nurtured by them. So, SDPI would be with them always.
