Haveri: Shivakumar Udasi, 58, son of former minister late CM Udasi retired from active politics.
A three time MP, Udasi informed that he will not contest in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
He didn’t cite any reason for his decision. He stated that keeping in mind personal commitments, he decided not to contest in the election.
Udasi is a senior Lingayat leader of the BJP in the north Karnataka region.
His decision came as a shocker for BJP which lost its Lingayat support base in the recently held state assembly election.
