Belgaum : The Karnataka Assembly, on December 2, Monday tabled an impeachment motion against SR Hiremath, Chief of the Samaja Parivartana Samudaya who is fighting a battle against MLAs and ministers involved in illegal mining.
The motion was tabled by Ramesh Kumar, MLA. He alleged that Hiremath was making statements in the press hurling baseless allegations against him. The Speaker transferred the case to the committee concerned.
It may be recalled here that state Minister Santosh Lad had to lose his ministership following the allegations hurled by Hiremath. Even the Congress has suffered a big insult owing to this. There was much anguish against Hiremath even in the Congress Legislative Party meeting held last week.
