Belagavi: Congress MLA of Khanapur Assembly Constituency, Anjali Nimbalkar, who is one among the rebel MLAs of Congress-Janata Dal (S) state coalition has drawn flak over the offer given by the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders to her on joining the party, here on Tuesday, July 9.
The District BJP party workers and some of the local leaders have shown distress over her joining the BJP.
Based on this development, the BJP Taluk President Vittal Patil has had a round of discussion with the party members today.
He said that they have decided not to give her membership of the party as she had humiliated the party leaders throughout her political campaign, previously in 2018 assembly election.
“She and her party members had taken an unethical route to win the elections and moreover she is basically not from the Rashtriya Swyamsevak Sangh (RSS) or the BJP. In such a situation, how is it possible for her to join the party?” he said.
Patil also said that after she had been elected as the MLA no developmental activities had taken place and until and unless there is a clear instruction by their leaders, no decision on welcoming her to the party would be taken.
Earlier, Anjali and MLA Soumya Reddy had decided to resign along with other rebel coalition MLAs. But, today she clarified that she would not leave the Congress party.
