Belagavi: Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda announced that Kannada, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science will become mandatory subjects in Madrasas across Karnataka.
The move aims to integrate students into mainstream society by providing them with a broader education beyond religious texts. Responding to a question during the Karnataka Legislative Council session, Gowda explained that a pilot project initially implemented in 100 schools, will introduce additional subjects like Kannada, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science for two years.
The government also plans to extend the initiative to Class 10, Pre-university, and undergraduate courses in national and state-level open schools.
