Vijayapura: The goods van driver lost control of the vehicle on Wednesday October 26 evening and plunged into a roadside ditch injuring at least 15 people.
A total of 15 people, including two children and three elderly people, sustained serious and minor injuries when the goods vehicle in which they were travelling lost control of the driver and fell into a roadside ditch after participating in a fair and free mass marriage ceremony at Beerappana Betta in Adavi Hulagabala Village in the Taluk.
Local MLA and Karnataka Food Corporation Chairman A. S. Patil Nadahalli, who was returning from the jatra programme, provided his Government vehicle to take the injured to the hospital immediately and sent his personal assistants and personal staff to take care of the injured.
All of them have been given primary and emergency treatment at the Taluk Government Hospital in Muddebihal. Sources said the legs of the two women have been broken.
