Vijayapura: The event which is expected to boost the morale of the party workers and the candidates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to the city on Saturday April 29 to address a mega election rally at Sainik School Ground.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday April 28 R. S. Patil Kuchabal, the BJP District President said that Modi would be arriving from Humanabad at around 12:00 noon to the City to address the gathering.
He said Modi has a total of four programmes on Saturday in Karnataka, of which Vijayapura City event is the second one.
To a question, he said that the party has made arrangements for 80,000 chairs while around two lakh people are expected to attend the programme.
The party candidates of eight Assembly segments of the District and candidate of Jamkhandi Taluk of Bagalkot District would be present.
“Besides the candidates, MPs of Vijayapura and Bagalkot, Ramesh Jigajinagi and P. C. Gaddigoudar respectively would accompany the PM.
Kuchabal claimed that the presence of Modi will send a new wave of exhilaration among the party workers.
It may be noted that Modi is coming to the City after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who had come for election campaign on April 23.
The City had witnessed a sea of humanity during the road show of Rahul where he addressed the crowd from the open truck which was arranged for the road show.
While only Rahul Gandhi, among the top national leaders of the Congress, has come to the District, BJP had sent Union Home Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis to various Assembly segments of the District to campaign.
