Vijayapura: Accusing the Prime Minister Narendra Modi of remaining completely silent and not uttering a word about the serious corruption charges being made against Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, All India Congress Committee General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala has announced to investigate all the cases of corruption, if the Congress comes to power in the coming Assembly elections.

He was speaking after launching the party’s ambitious ‘Guarantee Card’ programme for the coming elections at the party office on the evening of Friday February 17. “The Prime Minister visited Karnataka seven times, but he did not say even a word on the corruption charges being faced by the Bommai Government despite Karnataka Contractors’ Association personally shot a letter to him on the Government collecting 40% commission on allotting tenders and clearing the bills,” he retorted.

Mentioning a few prominent corruption charges, he said that during the Bommai Government, the Government has been accused of corruption in PSI Recruitment. “The matter is so serious that even the DGP, which is one of the highest posts in the Police Department, was found to be involved in the case and is now languishing in jail” he said.

“When the Congress raised the issue first, the Bommai Government refused to accept any corruption, but today, it has become reality and top IPS Officers are involved in it. It was all happening under the nose of the Home Minister but the party took no action against him,” he said.

He said similarly, the scams reported in the appointment of junior engineers, and lecturers. Even one of the prominent Mathas of the State accused the Government of taking commission in clearing the funds. All these corruptions are getting reported and they are in public domain, yet the PM and CM are maintaining silence on the corruption allegations,” he said.

Surjewala announced that his party will order a probe into all the corruption charges being made against the BJP Government if the Congress comes to power.

Stating that the days of the BJP Government are numbered, he said that the Congress will come to power again.

On the occasion, he said that since only one person gets tickets from one Assembly, therefore, the aspirants should not feel dejected as the party will offer them a suitable place after coming to power.

“Let me make it very clear that surely the party will consider different posts for the aspirants, but it is only for those who remain loyal to the party. Those who indulge in anti-party activity will get nothing,” he said.

Earlier, Leaders such as M. B. Patil, Shivanand Patil, C. S. Nadagouda also spoke and appealed to the party workers to work in unity for the victory of the party.
