Mangaluru: ‘No separate Corporation for Billavas, Community disappointed’

Mangaluru: The State Budget has neglected the Billava community members as an announcement with regard to separate Corporation to be set up for Community’s welfare not made, said Sri Narayana Guru Vichara Vedike (SNGV) State President Sathyajith Surathkal.

We had planned to hold a massive convention in January which was out on hold due to assurances by the Ministers. Even Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had given assurances, he rued and added that Community has been disappointed.

He asked the MLAs and Minister’s to answer the Community with regard to the Corporation.

Stating that Corporation was necessary for the educational and economic prosperity of the community, he said that the Legislative Session will be held till Friday February 24 and we expect the Government to announce setting up a Corporation by setting aside Rs. 500 Crore for the same.
