Bengaluru: The trending “Houdu Huliya” (huliya means tiger) episode of former chief minister Siddaramaiah had made a lot of noise on social media. The man who dubbed the Congress leader “Houdu Huliya” during the recent by-poll campaign met him to enquire about his health.

Peerappa Kattimani, who had coined the term, met Siddaramaiah on Monday, December 16.

Taking to Twitter, Siddaramaiah wrote, “During my by-election campaign speech at Kagawad, Peerappa Kattimani had shouted “Houdu Huliya” with love and affection. With the same affection, he has met me today and enquired about my health. He is the real ‘Huliya’, for being such an innocent being.”

It can be recalled that recently, when Siddaramaiah had been to the Kagawad Assembly constituency to campaign for Congress candidate Raju Kage ahead of the by-polls, the former addressed the gathering saying, “Former prime minister Indira Gandhi had sacrificed her life for the country.” At that time, Peerappa had shouted “Hodu Huliya”. For this remark, Siddaramaiah had first asked the police to take him out of his sight. He later told the police to give him a chance to behave decently.

This episode had gone viral on all social media platforms, some even making a song out of the incident.
