Bengaluru: Tasdik Bushra, a 19-year-old MBBS student from Lingarajapuram died on the spot after a speeding truck hit her scooter from behind on Hennur Main Road near the Lingarajapuram bridge. The incident took place around 11.45am on February 6.
Preliminary investigation led to the conclusion that this second-year student at Bangalore Medical College was trying to avoid a pothole when the accident happened. This caused a major outrage among the residents and motorists in the area who slammed the civic authorities for not taking care of the roads and filling the potholes.
Residents claim that many people have been dying due to the potholes which shows the negligence from the BBMP officials. They appealed to the authorities to take immediate action for the same.
The girl’s father Sayed Mushtak Ahmed filed a complaint against driver Palani for rash driving and negligence.
According to a report in The Times of India, the police said that Ahmed did not make any allegation about a pothole but there was one near the area and further probe into the case will reveal the cause.
