Bengaluru: The Department of Food and Civil Services issued notices to 21,232 Government employees who are using the benefits of the Below Poverty Line (BPL) cards.
According to the authorities, notices are issued after collecting the data of the staff serving in the Government and Semi-Government agencies through HRMS database of the State Finance Department.
The Department is planning to impose a fine between Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 1.5 Lakh for misusing BPL cards facility.
According to the authorities, BPL cards are used to supply free groceries beside free healthcare, and free seats under Right to Education (RTE) etc.
