Bengaluru: The Commercial Street police have arrested a 45-year-old man for raping a minor girl.
According to the police, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her mother’s employer in her house near Commercial Street on Saturday evening.
The police said the girl subsequently went missing and was found in Ramamurthy Nagar on Sunday afternoon.
“After bringing her to the police station, we asked her why she left her house. It was then that she told us how the accused entered the house when she was alone and raped her. The girl had fled from the house for safety and was too shocked and scared to return,” a senior police officer said.
The girl was subjected to a medical examination on Sunday evening, which confirmed the rape.
The Commercial Street police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The girl has been sent for counseling.
