Bengaluru: Activities have been accelerated in the Congress party as the Assembly elections in the state are around the corner. Though ticket distribution has not started, CM Siddaramaiah, KPCC President Dr. G Parameshwara and State Congress In-Charge K C Venugopal have passed a message to the current MLAs and ticket aspirants of the major constituencies to start their work.

The Congress party has considered the upcoming election very seriously and is making careful moves. Though the ticket aspirants are influential, the party has a single criteria this time, i.e. ability to win. The CM and Parameshwara, during their district tour, suggested many MLAs with winning abilities to maintain their work.

The current Congress MLAs, who have a fear of losing, have got time till January 15 to change the mood. The search is also ongoing for alternative candidates. In a few constituencies, the CM and KPCC President have given assurance for different aspirants. According to sources, the high command has directed them not to make a mess in the selection of candidates and suggested that it should be based on ground reality, work and opinions of the workers.

According to a source, among 80 members, the ticket has been assured to most of the ministers and MLAs including the Jarakiholi brothers, Dr. Sharanaprakash Patil, Vinay Kulkarni, K J George, D K Shivakumar and also for rebels like Jameer Ahmed, Cheluvarayaswami, H C Balakrishna etc.
