delivery pass 26032020Bengaluru: Over 300 representatives of e-commerce food, medicine, fruits and vegetable delivery aggregators answered Bengaluru City Commissioner of Police Bhaskar Rao’s call and meet with him at his office on Wednesday, March 25. The meeting was called by the compol to discuss and find a solution for the smooth delivery of essential items during the 21-day pan-India lockdown that came into effect on March 25 at 12 AM.

During the meeting, it was decided that the delivery person, along with their vehicle, will be issued passes to allow for the smooth deliveries. These passes will be issued to the organisations involved in the supply chain at each of the eight DCP offices. They can also be availed online after a couple of days.

To apply for the passes, the individual needs to submit their Aadhaar card. Misuse of the passes or furnishing of any false information will lead to a cognizable offence.

A WhatsApp group for the police and the aggregators will also be created so that any issues can be communicated.
