Bengaluru: BBMP authorities have sought the help of the KR Market police to find out the identity of the persons who installed a five-foot-tall statue of Dr. B R Ambedkar in K R market.
According to the authorities, the statue was installed on BBMP land in the 119th ward behind the Indira canteen, on December 5 night.
“This statue has been installed in violation of the government’s directions against statue installations in public places. As the issue is very sensitive, we want the police to act accordingly,” the BBMP authorities requested the police.
“Puja was performed for the statue after it was installed. Some locals may be behind this,” informed sources.
