Bengaluru: The areca nut and coconut growers took out a massive rally on Saturday demanding setting up a commission to regulate the prices of their agricultural products.
Farmers from several districts carried a protest march from Sangolli Rayanna Junction to Freedom Park.
They demanded the State government to fix support price rate for areca nut and coconut on the occasion.
There are about 20 crore areca and coconut trees in the state and most of them have contracted pests, which had affected the farmers financially.
