BBMP deputy mayor election on December 5

Bengaluru: The election for the BBMP deputy mayor post and various standing committees will be held on December 5.

The deputy mayor post is vacant following the death of Ramila Umashankar on October 5 due to the cardiac attack.

According to a notification issued by regional commissioner Shivayogi Kalasad, the election will be held at 11.30 am on December 5.

In his letter to BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad, the Regional Commissioner directed him to furnish the revised voters’ list by November 24.

According to the sources names of Bengaluru South MP Ananth Kumar and newly elected MP of Ballari VS Ugrappa needed to be deleted from the voters list. “Names of the newly elected MLCs needed to be included,” informed an officer form the BBMP.
