The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has issued a notice to cricketer Virat Kohli‘s pub, One8 Commune, located on MG Road, over alleged fire safety violations. The establishment reportedly lacks a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Fire Department, essential for its operation in a high-rise building.

The notice follows a complaint by activists H.M. Venkatesh and Kunigal Narasimhamurthy. Despite an earlier notice on November 29, the pub has not responded. The BBMP has now set a seven-day deadline, warning of legal action for non-compliance.

Citing past incidents like the Carlton Towers fire, activists have urged stricter enforcement of fire safety measures in Bengaluru’s high-rise establishments.

This is not the first controversy surrounding One8 Commune. In July, an FIR was registered against the pub for operating beyond the permissible 1 a.m. deadline.
