Belagavi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the State Government is bringing down financial deficit to Rs. 62000 Crore and trying hard for fiscal discipline. This deficit is only 2.82 per cent of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), he stressed and added that the permitted
deficit is up to 3.5 per cent of GSDP.
Speaking during a discussion on the second installment of supplementary budget of Rs 8,001.13 Crore that was passed in the House on Thursday December 29, he said that the GSDP was Rs 21.89 Lakh Crore. And deficit is only 2.82 per cent of the same, he noted.
“The total liabilities too were at Rs 5,18,314 Crore, which is just 23.76 per cent of the GSDP,” he informed.
