Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday, August 14, flagged off 75 Switch EiV 12 buses to meet the demands of the people of the City.
These buses will not only benefit commuters but also help reduce the city’s carbon footprint.
The 300 electric bus deal made to Switch Mobility Limited includes these brand-new, technologically advanced electric buses. These buses will be added into the fleet of the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).
“Switch Mobility which is a next-generation carbon-neutral electric bus and light commercial vehicle company, will supply and be responsible for operating and maintaining the 300 buses,” stated the company release.
According to the company, the advanced lithium-ion NMC chemistry modular batteries are also a feature of the electric buses. These batteries were created specifically for the Indian market and climatic conditions.
The modular batteries enable a high range of kilometres by increasing the capacity per battery cell for the same weight.
