Bengaluru: In a first of its kind experiment among any political parties, BJP will carry out a secret ballot voting exercise in all the districts to finalise the candidates for the upcoming State Assembly election.

A total of 22,000 party activists, RSS volunteers, and leaders are eligible to cast votes. Based on the voting results, the party will finalise the candidates for all the 224 constituencies.

According to the party leaders, all these years, the opinions of leaders and activists were collected orally. “To ensure that the exercise will be foolproof, this year, the votes will be exercised through ballot papers. While finalising the party tickets by the central leaders, the outcome of this exercise will be considered,” explained a BJP Leader.

‘The party activists, and leaders are asked to write three names on the ballot papers as first, second, and third priority. The votes will be counted at Bengaluru Office of the party in the presence of the District Level Core Committee Members,” he said.
