In India, it’s a familiar scene to witness families traveling on scooters, with one parent driving, another seated behind, and often the child squeezed in between or standing in front of the riding adult.
Recently, a circulating video on social media showcases a couple from Bengaluru maneuvering through traffic on a scooter, with their child standing on a footrest next to the woman. The footage captures the man operating the scooter while his wife uses one hand to support the child, who balances on the footrest beside her.
The incident reportedly occurred in Whitefield, an area known for its heavy traffic congestion, as stated by a user who shared the video, urging Bengaluru Police to intervene.

Others echoed concerns about the risks involved, emphasizing how even a minor disturbance like a pothole could lead to dire consequences.
Despite the backlash, one individual defended the couple, sharing their own experience of necessity due to limited transportation options, particularly for families with multiple children and financial constraints.
