Bengaluru: JD (S) leader Shivananda Patil Somajala (54), who was announced as the party candidate for the Sindagi constituency for the upcoming election, passed away due to a heart attack on Friday January 20.
He is a former soldier and is survived by his wife and daughter.
JD (S) leader H. D. Kumaraswamy carried out a Pancharatna yatra in the constituency in which Somajala actively participated on January 18. He was with Kumaraswamy in Pancharatna yatra in Vijayapura and Nagatana constituencies on Friday.
He developed chest pain in the night when he was taking a rest.
Even though he was rushed to the hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.
