Bengaluru: The Karnataka Pradesh Kurubara Sangha (KPKS) appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday November 9, requesting that he instruct the BJP to keep Raghunath Rao Malkapure, who is currently the party’s nominee for interim head of the Legislative Council, in that position.
According to a statement from the KPKS, Malkapure was appointed only in May 2022, making him the first community member to hold the position. Therefore, he should continue till the end of his tenure. The statement appealed with PM Modi to expedite the procedure for adding the Kuruba community to the list of Scheduled Tribes eligible for reservations.
Speaking to mediapersons, a group of a group of Kuruba leaders led by K. Mukudappa said that the BJP needs to re-induct former Minister K. S. Eshwarappa into the Bommai Cabinet.
“The statue of Kanakadasa at the legislators’ home must be garlanded by PM Modi. The idea that the whole Kurba community supports Siddaramaiah, the opposition leader, is wrong. In the Lok Sabha elections, a large section of the Kuruba community voted for the BJP. The BJP shouldn’t forget this “he said.
If the demands are not met, the statement said that the community will be forced to resort to protests.
