Bengaluru: The Vidyaranyapura police have arrested two persons, including a woman, in connection with the death of a security guard.
The arrested have been identified as Kalathoor Garden residents Devi Tomanga (46) and Jainul Ali Babu (30). The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Tomanga (52).
According to a preliminary investigation, police said that the accused Devi and her lover Babu killed Rakesh because Rakesh objected to their extramarital affair. On November 5, the duo strangled Rakesh to death.
To hide the crime, Devi pretended as though her husband had passed away in his sleep. However, the police believed that many of the details she provided were missing links. The autopsy report stated that Rakesh was strangled to death. Rakesh was strangled to death, according to the autopsy report. Devi confessed to murdering Rakesh with the help of her lover Babu during questioning by the police.
After murdering Rakesh, the two used a digital payment application to send around Rs. 50,000 to Babu’s account.
According to sources, Devi was the second wife of Rakesh. He married Devi after his first wife left him and settled in Kalathoor. For the last thirty years, he had been a security guard. Devi worked as a maid. She got to know Babu, and they eloped in July. Rakesh reported a missing complaint in Vidyaranyapura police. One week later, she returned home.
