The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has completed tunneling on the city’s longest underground Metro line, the 13.76-km Pink Line (Reach-6) under Phase-2, connecting Kalena Agrahara and Nagawara. This major milestone was achieved with the breakthrough of “Bhadra,” the final Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), which completed a 937-meter stretch from K G Halli to Nagawara.
Spanning 20.99 km with 12 underground stations, the Pink Line is expected to ease congestion along Bengaluru’s North-South corridor. Managed by ITD Cementation India, the project deployed nine TBMs and set various records, including a single-day excavation record by TBM Urja in 2022. The line is anticipated to open by December 2025, offering a faster, efficient alternative for city commuters.
