A public park in Bengaluru has found itself at the center of controversy after a signboard listing unusual rules went viral. Among the restrictions displayed were “No Jogging,” “Walk in Clockwise Direction,” and “No Gaming Activities.” The notice left many baffled, prompting mixed reactions on social media.
Resident Calls Out ‘Bizarre’ Park Rules
Local resident Sahana took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her frustration over the restrictions, particularly the ban on jogging in Indiranagar Park. In her post, she questioned the logic behind such limitations, sarcastically asking if the next rule would be banning Western clothing.
She further criticized how public spaces in Bengaluru are often policed, either by the government or by groups that claim authority under the guise of maintenance.
Mixed Reactions Online
The post quickly gained traction, with some users ridiculing the rules. One user called them “ridiculous,” while another claimed they had once torn down a similar sign, only for it to be replaced with even more restrictions.
However, some defended the park’s guidelines, arguing that designated walking directions help prevent congestion in crowded parks. Others pointed out that narrow pathways might make jogging unsafe.
While the debate continues, the unusual regulations have certainly sparked a conversation about access and control over public spaces in urban India.
