The Bengaluru northeast division police, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Sajeeth VJ, carried out simultaneous raids on the residences of 80 rowdy-sheeters on Tuesday. The operation, spanning two sub-divisions and seven police station limits, aimed to address law and order concerns by targeting individuals with pending warrants and summonses.
During the raids, Sahil, a rowdy-sheeter from Vidyaranyapura, was arrested under the Arms Act for possessing a billhook machete. Sahil, who has previous cases of attempted murder (2017) and theft (2022), could not provide a satisfactory explanation for the machete’s presence.
The raids were a preventive measure following an intra-gang fight among Kodigehalli gang members last week. The police had previously issued warnings to those involved in the altercation.
