Bengaluru: Sudduguntepalya Police Station PSI Manjunathaswamy has been suspended for misbehaving with a woman and a departmental inquiry has been ordered.

DCP (Southeast) C K Baba said an FIR has been registered against Manjunath and an investigation is underway.

On April 8, the victim had come to the police station to testify in the dowry case of her brother’s friend. PSI Manjunathaswamy then misbehaved with the woman. While getting the statement, he touched her waist and hand and behaved rudely. He also mentally harassed her through a WhatsApp chat late at night.

In a series of tweets, the victim, who is said to be a law student, said the incident took place when she went to give evidence in a dowry and divorce case. During preliminary investigation, it was found that Manjunathaswamy had misbehaved with the victim and he has now been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been ordered against him.
