Bengaluru: A retired army official has been jailed for allegedly trying to kill his mother by trying to obstruct artificial ventilation.
The man has been identified as John D’Cruz (64), a resident of R. T. Nagar in the City. He tried to murder his mother, Catherine D’Cruz (88).
The police said that the accused was arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by the caretaker of the elderly woman in this regard.
Catherine D’Cruz has four children, including three sons and a daughter, two of whom are in the United States of America. The accused, a retired army officer, lives here along with his mother. Catherine’s daughter is unmarried and lives in an orphanage. John’s son also lives in the US. His wife and son also have objected to his behaviour and had advised him not to abuse his mother. However, he tried to kill his mother, police said.
