Bengaluru Rural: Demanding that the Community Health Officers should be made permanent and that a provision be made in the promotion scheme, the Bengaluru Rural District Akhila Karnataka State Community Health Employees’ Association staged a protest in front of the District Administration Bhavan at Beerasandra Village in Devanahalli Taluk of the District.
Speaking on the occasion Akhila Karnataka State Community Health Employees’ Association District President B. Kariyanna, said that community health officers who worked at all levels during Covid – 19 were not given Covid – 19 allowance. Thus, the allowance should be released. The 12 types of health services provided to community health officers working under the National Health Abhiyan (NHHS) have been failed to provide to the villagers. There is a lack of coordination in the health and wellness centres and we are working in difficult situations,” he said.
“In all, Rs. 50,000 should be released for the maintenance of health and wellness centres should be allowed to be utilised. Basic amenities like medicines, equipment, and warehouses should be provided to enable us to perform their duties honestly,” he demanded
