Bengaluru: BJP workers staged a protest in front of the State Executive Meeting for the ongoing BJP elections at Golden Palace Resort in City on Sunday April 2, demanding that local weavers be given tickets for the Teradal Constituency this time.
Speaking to mediapersons, Rajendra Ambali, a BJP ticket aspirant, said, “This time the ticket should be given knowing the ground realities in the Constituency. In Teradal, which has a 40 per cent weaver community, the party must fulfill a long-standing demand. If the party has to win, victory is certain only if the weaver community is given a ticket,” he said.
“If the ticket is given to the locals this time, the win will be over a margin of more than 30,000 votes. There is no doubt that the State BJP will lose an MLA if the ticket is unnecessarily given to the old ones again as the weavers’ community workers in the constituency are quite agitated,” he said.
