Bengaluru: A woman commuting on the Bengaluru metro reported an alleged incident of molestation during peak hours at the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda station. The incident occurred as she was de-boarding the train to switch lines.
The accused, identified as Lokesh Achar, allegedly touched her inappropriately as she exited the train. The woman screamed, and the accused fled the scene but was apprehended by security officers.
Subsequently, the woman filed a complaint against the accused, revealing that Achar had prior involvement in a theft case in April, where he stole a woman’s phone on a BMTC bus. At the time of this recent incident, he was out on bail.
Police investigations uncovered 20 mobile phones and a two-wheeler at Achar’s residence. In response to previous molestation incidents, Bengaluru Metro heightened security measures during peak hours, a move that proved instrumental in the swift resolution of this case.
