After experiencing disruptions, Bengaluru’s electricity board has reinstated its online services, particularly the payment section on the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) website, for consumers. The interruption lasted from March 10 to March 19, causing delays in bill payments.

While online services resumed on March 20, the department acknowledged potential glitches due to heavy traffic for pending bill payments. Despite the eight-day downtime, BESCOM assured users that technical issues would be addressed before March 30.

Acknowledging the inconvenience caused, BESCOM announced that penalties and late payment charges would be waived for bills due until March 30. Additionally, instructions were issued to all ESCOMs not to disconnect electricity connections for non-payment of bills during this period.

The department affirmed its commitment to resolving all technical glitches by the end of the month, ensuring a smoother payment process for consumers starting next month.
