Bengaluru: The BJP state unit raised an objection to AICC president Rahul Gandhi holding an interaction event at Birds Park of Manyata Tech park of the city. The party leaders, led by state unit general secretary N Ravi Kumar submitted a memorandum to the state election commissioner Sanjeev Kumar in this regard.
In its petition, the BJP alleged that this bird park is notified by the forest department as the eco-sensitive zone. If Rahul Gandhi holds an interaction, thousands of people will attend it causing disturbance to the birds. So the permission must be withdrawn.
According to the sources in the Congress, the date of the interaction has not been finalised. “But keeping in mind the public sentiment we will shift the event out of the Bird Park,” said a Congress leader.
