Bengaluru: The BJP has finally released its final list of Lok Sabha candidates for Karnataka. In a surprise decision, the party has denied a ticket to Ramesh Katti, brother of Lingayat strongman and former minister Umesh Katti from Chikkodi.
According to the final list of candidates, Annasaheb Jolle, the husband of Nippani MLA Shashikala Jolle has been given a ticket to contest in the LS polls from the Chikkodi LS constituency. From Raichur, the party has fielded Raja Amaresh Nayak and from Koppal, incumbent MP Karadi Sanganna has been given the ticket.
“The denial of ticket to Ramesh Katti is expected to result in a rebellion,” said a BJP leader.
With this, the party has finalised its candidates for all the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state. Karnataka will go to the polls on April 18 and 23.
