Bengaluru: Police arrested a 58-year-old KSRTC bus conductor for allegedly assaulting a female passenger after a verbal argument on the morning of Tuesday May 24.
In her complaint, the victim, Sirajunnisa (39), a resident of T Dasarahalli, stated that she had boarded the bus with her two children from Chikkamagaluru’s Koppa. She alighted from the bus at T Dasarahalli at 5.00 am. However, the conductor Ravi Kumar got angry when her children did not step off quickly.
This resulted in a quarrel between them, during which the conductor hit and kicked the female passenger.
Following the incident, Sirajunnisa alerted the police who rushed to the spot and arrested the conductor. According to sources, senior KSRTC officials met the victim and apologised and said the KSRTC prioritises the safety of female passengers.
