Bengaluru: Yashwantpur police arrested five ganja dealers while allegedly posing as sari dealers.
According to sources, the arrested have been identified as Nagendra (32) from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, Jameel alias Shiva (29) from Visakhapatnam, Ramanna (32), Kiran (28) and Manikantha (31). The cops seized nearly 53 kg of ganja from their possession.
The accused used to buy ganja from a man in Kakinada and then sell it to buyers in Jayaram Colony and Yashwantpur Station for a high price, informed police. When the gang arrived in Bengaluru in a private bus to supply the ganja consignment concealed in bags containing sarees to Kiran and Manikantha, the police were able to arrest them.
A case has been registered.
