Bengaluru: Some say “necessity is the mother of all invention”. Some others say “where there is a will there is a way”. One Bengaluru bus driver has proved these age-old sayings true by cultivating a mini garden in his bus and using this to spread awareness about a green environment among the passengers.

A bus driver with the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) for the last 27 years, Narayanappa has become a source of inspiration to those who commute in his bus that plies between Kaval Bylasandraa and Yeswanthpur.

His mini garden at the front and back of the bus consists of nearly 14 plants, which he waters every single day without fail.

This green evangelist has been looking after his mini garden for the last three years. He says he does it to create awareness among the masses about a greener environment.

Commuters, who feel that Narayanappa is engaging in a noble task, have appreciated him and his work.

One commuter said that it is noble of Narayanappa to have provided some greenery in the bus despite his busy schedule. “I appreciate his thought and his task,” she said.
