Mangaluru: A 45-year-old man from Bengaluru drowned at Mogaveerapatna beach, on Sunday, May 5.
The deceased has been identified as Rizwan, a resident of Shivajinagar in Bengaluru. Sources in Ullal police station informed that Rizwan had a footwear shop in Deralakatte. He had been to Mogaveerapatna along with his friends on Sunday evening. When he stepped into the sea, a strong wave washed him away. Though his friends screamed for help and alerted the rescue team, they could not rescue him, sources said.
It is said that revellers from outside districts don’t bother about the caution boards placed there. A total of six persons were rescued by the lifeguards at Ullal beach, since a month, police sources informed.
A case has been registered at Ullal police in this regard.
