Bengaluru: Karnataka State Law Minister Basavaraj Bommai told the Legislative Assembly that the state government would soon form a Grievance Redressal Authority to handle complaints within Bengaluru’s corporation limits.
Bommai said on Tuesday, March 13 that the new BBMP Act, 2020, has provisions for a grievance redressal mechanism working under the purview of the law.
“Earlier, the BBMP used to have a website, a toll-free number, and a mobile app where people could file grievances. Section 368 of the BBMP Act provides for the establishment of the Authority, which will be headed by a retired district court judge,” he informed.
The authority can hear grievances related to revenue, health, education, and issue directions to authorities, he added.
