Bengaluru: On Saturday December 25, State BJP Chief Nalin Kumar Kateel has said that Bommai will serve as Chief Minister until the next election in 2023 and there is no change in leadership.

The Chief Minister, who will finish five months in office in the coming days, became emotional in his home town of Shiggaon in Haveri District a few days ago when he claimed he was aware that posts and positions do not last forever, leading a few to raise their eyebrows.

Kateel, on the other hand, termed the talk of a leadership change a conspiracy. “When senior BJP leader B. S. Yediyurappa became chief minister, he said, speculation about his exit began, but he remained in power for two years. ‘This news is a figment of imagination. I believe this is a plan to create confusion and difficulties in state politics, as well as to defame the BJP government,” Kateel said.

Kateel also ruled out Bommai going abroad for the treatment of his knee related ailment. “He will not travel abroad. His health is fine, although he does have some leg problems for which he is getting treatment. His leg condition will only be cured here,” Kateel added.

He went on to say that CM Bommai was supposed to travel abroad on behalf of the government, but that it had been postponed. As a result, the international trip has been cancelled.
