Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) marked its Silver Jubilee, celebrating 25 years of service at its Karnataka Circle headquarters in Halasuru. The event, held recently, commemorated the telecom giant’s journey since its formation in 2000 and its ongoing contribution to India’s communication network.

The celebrations were inaugurated by N Sujatha, Chief General Manager of BSNL Karnataka Circle, who lit the ceremonial lamp and cut a cake in the presence of senior officers, union leaders, and association representatives.

Employees pledge commitment to quality service

On the occasion, the BSNL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) administered a pledge to employees, urging them to uphold trust, dignity, and customer-first service while ensuring that networks remain secure, reliable, and affordable.

Addressing the gathering, officials highlighted BSNL’s role in expanding connectivity in rural and remote areas, contributing to India’s digital transformation. They also expressed confidence that the company’s revival plans and upcoming 5G rollout will further strengthen its position in the telecom sector.

Month-long celebrations across Karnataka

As part of the Silver Jubilee festivities, BSNL announced a series of month-long activities across the state, including roadshows, walkathons, and customer outreach programmes aimed at spreading awareness about its services and promoting customer engagement.

The celebrations will also feature interactive sessions and digital literacy campaigns at various BSNL offices to encourage more people to adopt government-led digital initiatives.

Launch of BSNL’s indigenous 4G network

BSNL’s milestone celebration comes just days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the company’s fully indigenous 4G mobile network on September 27, describing it as a major step towards India’s technological self-reliance.

With this launch, India joined the top five countries globally equipped with indigenous telecom technology. PM Modi lauded BSNL’s contribution in bridging the digital divide and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring affordable telecom access for all.

Looking ahead

BSNL officials said the company remains focused on strengthening its network, improving service quality, and preparing for nationwide 5G deployment in the coming year. The Silver Jubilee, they said, marks not just a celebration of its past but also a renewed commitment to “connecting every Indian.”
