Bengaluru: The state BJP unit has called for a state-wide protest on Wednesday, November 21, in a show of support to the sugarcane cultivators who have been staging protests.
BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa, while speaking to reporters, warned that a state-wide agitation would be staged by gathering farmers if the state government did not meet their demands.
Then, attacking Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and his father, former prime minister and JD(S) supremo, H D Deve Gowda, BSY accused them of being the “most opportunistic” politicians in the country, even calling them synonymous to “betrayal”.
He also slammed the CM for his remark against a protesting woman farmer saying, “It is shameful for the Chief Minister to make such a remark against a woman farmer.” He also called the CM arrogant for calling the protesting farmers “goondas”.
He continued his attack on the CM saying that the power seems to have gotten to his head and then said that the Congress party should reconsider its support for the coalition. “Ask the CM to implement the decisions or quit the post,” he added.
