Bengaluru: Food and civil supplies minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan stated that he is not against the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, but is keen on having a mosque as well in the same place.
“No Muslim will oppose the construction of the Ram Mandir, but our wish is that a mosque should also come up in the same place,” he said.
He alleged that the BJP remembers Ram Mandir only at the time of the election. “In 2014, they spoke about the mandir. Now, they have again started talking about the temple because 2019 general election is around the corner,” he alleged.
He also requested the BJP not to politicise the Tipu Jayanti celebrations. “Tipu is a warrior, a pro-people King. He was a secular person, but the BJP is trying to tarnish his image,” he charged.
