CBSE results: Karnataka pass per cent stands at 95.45

Bengaluru: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the results of Class XII for all the regions across the nation on Monday.

As per official data from the board, Karnataka has secured an overall pass percentage of 95.45, which is 2.30 per cent less than the previous year. For 2014, the overall pass percentage of Karnataka was 97.75.

This year, 7,503 candidates appeared for the exams from Karnataka. Of that 4,150 are boys and 3,353 are girls. Of that 4,030 boys and 3,304 girls cleared the exams. The pass percentage for boys is 97.11 and for girls 98.54.

The number of students who appeared for the exams from Karnataka too was less compared to last year. In 2014, 7,547 students who appeared for the exam.

The total number of candidates who appeared for the exams across the nation was 1,40,368. However, there is a dip in the nationwide pass percentage from last year’s 82.70 to 82.

Girls performed better than boys with a pass percentage of 87.56 compared to 77.77 for boys.

In the South region, Karnataka stands at the fourth place. Puducherry stands first with a 98.36 pass percentage, followed by Tamil Nadu with 97.06, Goa with 96.79 and Karnataka with 95.45.

The results are available on the websites www.results.nic.in,  www.cbseresults.nic.in, www.cbse.nic.in.

The Chennai region includes Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Daman and Diu. The Trivandrum region includes Kerala and Lakshadweep.
