Bengaluru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police on Monday arrested 14 people on charges of gambling. The police have identified the arrested persons as Ashwath, 36, Dayananda, 39, Narayanaswamy, 46, Srinivasa, 60, Ravikumar, 46, Vijayakumar, 40, Murthy, 42, Gopinath, 37, Ramanjaneya, 37, K P Patel, 43, Sunilkumar, 32, Anjanappa, 48, Ramesh, 24, and Santosh, 24.
The police have seized Rs 1,38,128 cash and playing cards from the arrested persons. The police, after receiving a tip off from informers, conducted a raid on Sri Vijayalakshmi Recreation Members’ Association Club on Agara Main Road, Kalkere in Ramamurthy Nagar police limits and nabbed the people playing andhar bahar.
A case has been registered at Ramamurthy Nagar Police Station.
