CCB police nab six for selling contraband goods

Bengaluru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police have raided four shops in City Market police limits and two shops in Halasoor Gate police limits and arrested six people for selling contraband goods. The police have identified the accused as Motaram (26), residing at Taja Complex, MB Street, Nagrathpet Cross, Bengaluru, Dinesh (32), Kilari Road, Bengaluru, Nimbaram (21), Siddanna Lane, Cubbonpet, Mahendar (26), Swathi Complex, Bhashyam Circle, Rajajinagar and Phelajaram (29), Lakshmibai Building, Kilari Road, Bengaluru.

The police have seized contraband goods worth Rs 1,77,000. According to the police, the accused used to sell contraband goods by using the logos and stickers of Hindustan Lever Limited’s beauty products such as Lakme, Ponds, Dove, Axe and Brut. The police said the accused confessed that they used to get contraband products from Mukesh and Shantilal.

One held

The police have arrested one person for selling contraband toner cartridges. The police have identified the accused as Babu Kemjigadari (25) who hails from Rajasthan and residing at LIC colony in Jeevan Bhima Nagar. The police have seized contraband toner cartridges worth Rs 4,69,611. The police said the accused used to sell the fake toner cartridges by using the stickers and logos of Hewlett-Packard Company.
